Description

Batch file that contains a series of commands executed in order; introduced with Windows NT, but can be run by DOS or Windows NT systems; similar to a .BAT file, but is run by CMD.EXE instead of COMMAND.COM.

Since CMD files are saved in a plain text format, they can be viewed and edited with a text editor.
