Extra Camera Battery FTW

August 31, 2012 — by Per Christensson

Every once in awhile, I actually follow my own advice. One of my recent monthly tips was to pack an extra camera battery when you travel. Therefore, I bought an extra battery for my Canon S100 the day before I left for a trip to Scandinavia at the beginning of August. It was a good thing I did.

There have been several times during this trip when I have needed to charge one battery while using the other one. Additionally, there was one day in particular as I was taking photos of the fjords in Norway when I needed more than one battery to last the day. The extra battery I brought with me helped me get some of my best shots of the trip. It was well worth the cost and effort to purchase the additional battery before I left.

While it is wise to pack an extra battery, I should also mention that packing an extra camera might be a good idea as well. My S100 lens motor died a few days ago and I've had to use my iPhone to take pictures during this past week. Oh well. The S100 was a great camera up until the moment it stopped working. I hope to post a full review of the camera some time in the next few weeks.

BTW, If you're not sure what FTW means, you can view the definition.
