Object that can be placed within an ActiveX form; typically has an event attached to it, such as handling scroll bar movement and the resizing of windows; commonly written in the Visual Basic or C++ programming languages. Originally called an Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) custom control. Now referred to as an ActiveX control, which is the component object within Microsoft's ActiveX technologies. |
