Dock
Example: "It is helpful to store commonly used applications in the Dock."
The Dock is a feature of the macOS Finder that provides quick access to programs, files, and folders. By default, the Dock sits at the bottom of the screen, though it can be moved to the left or right and can be hidden if preferred. It contains application icons on the left side and files and folders on the right.
You can open programs and files directly from the Dock and can add or remove items by dragging the corresponding icons to or from the Dock.
