Valentine's Day Downer
February 14, 2001 — by Per Christensson
So it's Valentine's Day. Great. My least favorite day of the year. Valentine's Day is one holiday I don't celebrate. Sure, it was fun when we were in elementary school and we passed around Smurf and Flinstones Valentines. But back then, Valentine's Day was just about the candy. Those were the good old days.
Today, Valentine's Day is about other people's happy relationships and my broken ones. Not much to celebrate, if you ask me. If you're a regular Sharpened.net visitor, you know that I'm usually not Mr. Cynicism, but I couldn't think of too much positive stuff to say today. I hope that at least your Valentine's Day goes well and that you have reason to celebrate it. Peace.
