FYI is a common way to say, "For your information..." It is similar to saying, "JSYK." FYI usually precedes a statement when talking or chatting online with another person. It can also be used as a noun before or after you say something important, like "Just an FYI."

Example "FYI, it's going to rain today so the game is probably going to be canceled."
