Description: The # symbol, also called a hashtag, is used to denote keywords in Twitter posts. For example, #election could be used to add the "election" keyword to a tweet. By clicking on a word preceded by a hashtag, you can view all recent tweets that include that keyword. When used as a hashtag, the number symbol is not considered an emoticon. |
