| Description |
The Core Audio Format (CAF) is a proprietary audio format developed by Apple for storing and manipulating audio data. It is a wrapper format, meaning a CAF file may contain data saved in one of many different audio formats. CAF files also have no file size restrictions and support auxiliary data, such as text annotations, markers, and channel layouts. CAF files are supported by Mac OS X 10.4 and later and QuickTime 7 and later. |
