Description

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) refers to the transmission of structured data. It is a concept defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and was designed to standardize the electronic transmission of information.

While EDI files are usually saved in a human-readable plain text format, there are several different standards. Therefore, you must have the appropriate application to import the data correctly. Otherwise, you may be able to at least view the file using a text editor.
