Description

A DIB file is a standard bitmap (.BMP) image file with a generic header. It contains a list of pixels, organized by row, with color information about each pixel.

The DIB format is "device independent" because it is not associated with a specific platform or computer application. Therefore, DIB files can be opened by most image viewers.
