| Description |
Video files recorded using Microsoft Media Center are saved with a ".dvr-ms" extension. They video data is encoded with MPEG-2 compression and the audio is encoded with MPEG-1 Layer II compression. DVR-MS files can be opened by Windows Media Center, which is part of Windows XP Media Center edition. It is also included with Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate editions. Windows Media Player may also be able to open DVR-MS files as long as Windows XP SP1 or later is installed. |
