POD documentation can be saved as a POD file but can also be written within Perl source code. POD files are used for documenting publicly released Perl modules and for the Perl help manual, also called the Perl manpages.

Description

POD files are used by several different games developed by Terminal Reality. They contain game data, such as models, textures, maps, and sounds. POD files are loaded by the games during gameplay and therefore should not be opened directly by the user. However, the contents of a POD file can be viewed with Dragon UnPACKer.

Games that use POD files include Terminal Velocity, Fury 3, Hellbender, Monster Truck Madness, CART Precision Racing, Hellbender, Fly!, 4x4 Evo, Ghostbusters, and Bloodrayne.
