VOB files store video data on DVDs. They are usually located in the VIDEO_TS folder and use MPEG-2 video encoding.

VOB is short for "Video Object," and refers to the video, audio, and subtitle data stored within the file. Though the VOB format is designed for DVD players, many video playback programs can play VOB files directly.
