| Description |
An MDX file may also be a disk image file created with DAEMON Tools. It contains the header information, typically stored in an .MDS file, as well as the actual data, which is often stored in an .MDF file. Therefore, the MDX format combines the MDS and MDF files into a single file.
DAEMON Tools is a disc emulation utility that allows users to make virtual CDs, DVDs, HD-DVDs, and blu-ray discs. These virtual discs, or "disc images," allow users to data create local copies of optical media. Once the disc data has been copied, the physical disks are no longer necessary. The software supports up to 16 virtual drives at one time. |
