| Description |
A PCAPNG file contains captured data saved in the PCAP Next Generation dump file format, an advanced packet capture format designed to replace the previous .PCAP format. It is used by packet sniffers to store data captured over a network. The data in a PCAPNG file is stored in separate blocks, which helps structure the captured data so it may be reconstructed.
Wireshark is a network protocol analyzer used to monitor data packets sent over a network.
