Description |
A WPS file is a text document created with the Microsoft Works word processor. It may contain text, images, and page formatting information. WPS files are similar to .DOC files created with Microsoft Word, but do not support advanced formatting or macros. They can be opened with most Windows versions of Microsoft Word (included with Microsoft Office) as well as Microsoft Publisher.
About Microsoft Works
Microsoft Works is a home productivity suite that includes word processing, spreadsheet, and database functionality. It also includes a calendar, dictionary, and other features. Works is often viewed as a trimmed-down version of MS Office. While Works uses its own file formats, newer versions of the program can open and save files in standard Office formats as well.
