The WTV file format is used by Windows Media Center for saving recorded TV shows. It replaces the older .DVR-MS format and adds support for metadata and DRM copy protection. WTV files can be played back within Windows Media Center using the Stream Buffer Engine DirectShow source filter.
Windows Media Center is a media management and playback program for Windows. It allows users to watch Internet TV and movies, record television shows, and broadcast their own shows. It can also be used to view photos and slideshows, play music and Internet radio, and create home videos. Windows Media Center is included with Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate, as well as all U.S. versions of Windows 7. |
