.xex

Video games and other apps developed for the Xbox 360 gaming console may have a ".xex" file extension. They are are designed to run on an Xbox 360 and are not meant to be opened on a computer.

There is currently no emulator available that opens Xbox 360 games. Some emulators are able to run original Xbox games, which have a .XBE file extension.

Important: The "default.xex" file is used to update the Xbox 360 so that it is backwards compatible with original Xbox games.
