Less is More

I updated the PC.net home page today with a change I have been meaning to make for a long time. I truncated each article to a maximum of four paragraphs and added a link to view the full article after each one. This allows me to fit more articles on the home page, since individual ones don't take up as much vertical space.

Posting article summaries on the home page is standard for blogs and news sites. However, since I don't use WordPress or some other blogging software, this didn't happen automatically on PC.net. Truncating the articles required adding custom PHP code, which I just had to sit down and figure out once and for all. I ended up writing the code in about an hour between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM, which seems to be when I am most productive. I hope you enjoy the new format!
