Description

DNG is a RAW image format developed by Adobe Systems. It contains image data that is unprocessed and captured directly from the camera's sensor. It also supports metadata saved using EXIF, IPTC, or XMP tags.

Many digital SLR cameras save raw images in the manufacturer's proprietary format. The DNG format was designed to be a universal format for all digital cameras. By using a standard format, images can be opened more reliably on multiple computer systems.

Important: In some cases, DNG files may be saved with a .TIF extension to comply with the TIFF-EP specification.
