2D or 3D vector-based drawing created by Autodesk Inventor, a program used to design, visualize, and simulate mechanical products; may contain parts (.IPT files), assemblies (.IAM files), and presentation materials (.IPN files).

IDW files are used for storing completed designs, as well as simulating the designs before manufacturing. They can be exported to .DWG files for interoperability with Autodesk AutoCAD.
