In the computing world, a developer is someone who creates software applications or websites. For example, a Windows developer creates programs that run on Windows computers. A mobile app developer might build apps that run on iOS or Android.

A backend developer codes dynamic pages using a scripting language like PHP and a database query language like SQL. Full-stack developers cover the whole gamut of web scripting and page design, displaying dynamically-generated content on each page.
