Description

Archive of files saved in the Unix CPIO (Copy In, Copy Out) format, an uncompressed archive format for grouping files together; similar to a .TAR archive; can be compressed into a zipped archive and saved as a .CPGZ file.

CPIO files can be created and extracted using "ditto," a Unix BSD command line program. Typing the command "ditto -c" creates a CPIO archive.
