AIC files are compressed raster image files. They are encoded using the Advanced Image Coding (AIC) algorithm.

AIC is an experimental compressed image format that combines both H.264 and JPEG compression algorithms. It is comparable to the JPEG 2000 format, and is best suited for photos and small images.
