Description

Image format that contains several versions of same bitmap (.BMP) image in different sizes; for example a 512x512 pixel MIP image may also include 256x256, 128x128, 32x32, and 16x16 pixel versions.

The MIP format was created for Paint Shop Pro and is commonly used for texture mapping purposes.
