The Meridian Lossless Packing (MLP) compression algorithm is commonly used for compressing audio for DVD-Audio and Blu-ray dics. It is applied to raw audio data encoded with pulse-code modulation (PCM) and reduces the file size by about 50%.

MLP files can be played by compatible DVD-Audio and Blu-ray players as well as Meridian Audio software.
