SFCACHE files are created on flash memory devices by the ReadyBoost feature in Windows Vista. By default, they are named ReadyBoost.sfcache.

ReadyBoost is a feature that allows an external flash memory device to be used as extra RAM. To enable ReadyBoost, first connect a flash drive to your Windows Vista machine. Then right-click the device's icon in My Computer and select "Properties." Finally, click the ReadyBoost tab and choose "Use this device."
