A UUD file is a decoded .UUE file that was previously encoded with UUEncoding. It is most likely from a Unix-based system, which encoded the file using the uuencode program.

Uuencoding uses binary-to-text encoding, which coverts a binary file into a text file. It is primarily used to maintain a data file's integrity when transferred via e-mail.

IMPORTANT: The ".uud" extension may need to be removed or changed back to the file's original extension in for the file to open.
